§ 22. Mr. Campbell-Savoursasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what discussions he has had with local education authorities about the number of children who have been the subject of a statement under the Education Act 1981 and for whom there are not suitable places in schools or special schools to implement the statement.
§ Mr. DunnNone. Although there may be difficulties or delays in finding suitable places for individual children, there does not seem to be any general problem which would justify intervention by my right hon. Friend. If a child is awaiting a vacancy, the local education authority will normally make temporary arrangements, including home tuition if appropriate.
