§ Mr. MooreFor a married man on average earnings with two children, the percentage of earnings taken in income tax less child benefit is expected to be 12.9 per cent. in 1984–85 compared to 14.4 per cent. in 1978–79. Corresponding estimates for a married man with two children on five times average earnings are 39.9 per cent. in 1984–85 and 47.1 per cent. in 1978–79.
