§ Mr. John PattenInformation on the costs of implementing the Employment of Children Act 1973 is not available. Following consultation with local authority associations in 1975 and 1977 on the introduction of new regulations under the Act, it was agreed the implementation would have considerable resource implications for local authorities. One of the main costs envisaged was in respect of additional staff for their effective administration.
