§ Mr. Giles ShawIn the period from 1 December to 10 January inclusive, 58 police officers were injured in incidents connected with the miners' dispute. The total number of police officers injured in the period from 13 March to 10 January inclusive was 1,305. It is not possible to say how many members of the public have been injured because not all their injuries are necessarily reported to the police.
