HC Deb 27 February 1985 vol 74 c218W
Mr. Alton

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will make a statement on the termination of all routine admissions to the Royal Liverpool hospital.

Mr. John Patten

Routine admissions have been suspended temporarily at the Royal Liverpool hospital due to the unusually high incidence of emergency admissions resulting from the recent weather conditions. No urgent admissions are affected. It is for health authorities to arrange admissions to hospitals to take account of fluctuations in demand.
