asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what has been the revenue from North sea oil operations in each of the last five years.

[pursuant to his reply, 25 February 1985, c. 58]: Total North sea oil tax take — that is, royalties, petroleum revenue tax (including advance payments), supplementary petroleum duty and ring-fence corporation tax (before ACT set-off)—in each of the financial years 1979–80 to 1983–84 was as follows:
