HC Deb 26 February 1985 vol 74 c162W
Mr. Kennedy

asked the Secretary of State for Defence when he expects to receive the report on the crash of the F111 jet near Tain bombing range in August 1984; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lee

The aircraft accident investigation report on this accident has now been completed. It shows that the aircraft struck a bird, causing damage which led to difficulties in the control of the aircraft. The pilot decided there was no option but to eject, which both crew did safely. The accident has been judged to be attributable to the bird strike.
