Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what proportion of blood products for use by haemophiliacs at transfusion centres is imported; and what proportion of imported products are used after one year, after two years, after three years, and after more than three years, respectively;

(2) when the heat treatment (protein fractionation) plant for blood products at Elstree will be completed and working.
