§ 30. Dr. Godman
asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what response he is making to the report, "A Future for the Inverclyde Training Centre", compiled by the Centre for Employment Initiatives, a copy of which has been sent to him; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Allan Stewart
My right hon. Friend has not received a copy of this report. I understand that it was commissioned by the Scottish Development Agency as part of the studies carried out to determine the potential for an economic initiative for the Inverclyde area. Decisions on the future use of the training centre are a matter for 209W British Shipbuilders, and I am sure that it will take full account of the views of the agency and the local authorities.
