§ Mr. Allan StewartIn both 1979 and 1984, Scotland ranked second in terms of average weekly earnings of males. In the case of average weekly earnings of females, Scotland ranked sixth in 1979 and third in 1984. More detailed information on actual earnings levels in Scotland and other standard regions of Great Britain is available from the published reports of the New Earnings Survey for 1979 and 1984.
