§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Employment what resources he plans to make available to the Manpower Services Commission to enable it to increase the numbers of participants on its adult training programmes.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonThrough more cost-effective use of resources and tailoring provision to meet specific needs, we intend to achieve this increase within the current level of expenditure on adult training. Forward provision for occupational and adult training programmes (excluding the Commission's expenditure on non-advanced further education) is £262 million in 1985–86 (excluding administration costs).
