HC Deb 04 February 1985 vol 72 c393W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will publish in the Official Report a table showing the United Kingdom deficit with the EEC in 1984 in (a) trade in manufactures less precious stones and (b) total imports less crude oil and precious stones.

Mr. Channon

In 1984, the deficit on trade in manufactures less precious stones was £7.8 billion on the balance of payments basis. For total trade less crude oil and precious stones the deficit is estimated to have been £10.3 billion on the same basis.
