§ Mr. Tom Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if Her Majesty's Government will make it their policy to seek to retain their military presence in Belize while external threats to Belize continue.
§ Mr. RentonBritish troops will remain for an appropriate period to assist Belize with external defence and in the training of the Belize defence force. We wish to see as soon as possible conditions prevail in which the garrison can be safely withdrawn.
