HC Deb 19 December 1985 vol 89 c244W
Mr. Michael Brown

asked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he has any plans to increase the cash limit for the Office of Fair Trading; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Howard

Subject to parliamentary approval of the necessary Supplementary Estimate, the cash limit for Class IV, Vote II (Office of Fair Trading) will be increased by £800,000 from £7,479,000 to £8,279,000 to meet the increased costs of computerising the consumer credit licensing operation. The additional amount will be charged to the reserve, and so will not add to the planning total of public expenditure.
