§ Mr. Budgenasked the Attorney-General whether he is yet in a position to make any announcement about the resources available to the Director of Public Prosecutions for fraud investigation work.
§ The Solicitor-GeneralI told the House on 2 December at column 12, that the resources available to the fraud investigation group of the Director of Public Prosecution's department were being reviewed. My right hon. and learned Friend has arranged to recruit nine professional officers to the fraud divisions to add to the 15 now employed there. There will also be corresponding254W increases in non-professional support staff. My right hon. and learned Friend will not hesitate to provide further staff for the Director if that is necessary.
