§ Mr. Giles ShawThe authorised police establishment of the Thames Valley police of 3,317 would need to be increased by 729 to bring the force's ratio of population per police officer up to the average, on 31 December 1984, of 454 to one for police forces outside London in England and Wales. The increase in establishment would need to be 1,148 to bring the forces's ratio up to the average of 411: 1 for all forces in England and Wales.
