§ Sir John Biggs-Davison asked the Prime Minister if, having regard to the international status of the Anglo-Irish agreement, she will require a Minister at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, or other appropriate representatives of that Department, to attend meetings of the Inter-Governmental Council.
§ The Prime MinisterMembership of the conference is small and flexible. The Foreign and Commonwealth Office will be represented as appropriate.

§ The Prime MinisterMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, my hon. Friends the Minister of State, Northern Ireland Office, and the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State attended the first meeting of the intergovernmental conference on 11 December. The Northern Ireland Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office were represented at official level. There have been no other meetings.
