§ Mrs. FennerThe Government proposed in their consultation document on the review of food legislation that section 13 of the Food Act 1984, the Food and Drugs (Scotland) Act 1956 and the Food and Drugs (Northern Ireland) Act 1958 should be amended to specify that references to "food" in these sections should be construed as including animals (including poultry) sold live to intending consumers for immediate slaughter on the480W vendor's premises. I have received a number of representations on this and other proposals and these are being considered before a final decision is taken.
