§ Mr. TraceyThe distribution of grants for the repair of historic buildings and monuments are the responsibility of the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission rather than of my right hon. Friend. I understand that although an application for grant was made to the commission on 1 May, complete information on the costs of the repairs work and their design were not submitted until 5 September. The commission will inform the applicants of its decision shortly.
