asked the Secretary of State for Defence when he will award the contract for the replacement of the Royal Air Force Wessex and Puma helicopters, air staff target 404.

As I said in my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Wells (Mr. Heathcoat-Amory) on 26 March 1985 at column 207, the Army's requirement for a light support helicopter is being reviewed, and decisions on AST 404 will remain in abeyance until the review is complete.
