§ Mr. Proctorasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on his recent meeting with Signor Spinelli concerning the draft treaty on European Economic Community integration and the response he gave to Sigor Spinelli on behalf of Her Majesty's Government.
§ Mr. RifkindMy right hon. and learned Friend met a delegation from the European Parliament, including Signor Spinelli. He made clear that the best chance of making progress towards greater European unity lay in practical reforms which could be implemented without delay within the framework of the existing treaties.
