Mr. Harrison

asked the Secretary of State for Transport (1) if he will identify where the responsibility lies for servicing the public communications system at service stations on the MI between London and Leeds;

(2) if he will identify where responsibility lies for servicing the public communications system at service stations on the M62 between Liverpool and Goole;

(3) if he will identify where responsibility lies for servicing the public communications system at service stations on the A1(M) between Hatfield and Newcastle.

Operators of motorway service areas in England are required by their leases to provide at all times a number of public telephones, except when temporarily prevented by circumstances outside their control.
