§ 48. Mr. Colemanasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what diplomatic and other measures Her Majesty's Government intend to take against Iraq in the light of continual use of chemical weapons in the Gulf war.
§ Mr. LuceAs we have made clear many times in the past, most recently in a statement issued by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office on 29 March 1985, a copy of which is in the Library of the House, we rigorously condemn the use of chemical weapons wherever it occurs. We will continue to work strenuously at the Geneva conference on disarmament for a total ban on such weapons which would include the prevention of civil chemicals being directed to military use.
