§ 41. Mr. Fosterasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on nursery education in the light of the White Paper, "Better Schools."
§ Mr. DunnChapter 4 of the White Paper "Better Schools" states the Government's position on education of the under-fives. In particular, the Government's aim will be that its plans for LEAs' expenditure should allow provision attributable to under fives to continue in real terms within broadly the same totals as at present; within these totals there is scope for local flexibility and improvements in both quality and cost-effectiveness.
