§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has as to the amount spent on anti-rate capping propaganda by Leicester city council.
§ Mr. Kenneth BakerI do not have precise information; but Leicester has clearly been wasting considerable sums of its ratepayers money on anti-rate capping propaganda, and I understand that the council's policy and resources committee has reported that in this new financial year £150,000 could conceivably be spent on a rate limitation publicity campaign.
