§ Mr. Michieasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what was the number of appeals and references decided under the industrial injuries scheme by each of the medical appeals tribunals in England and Wales, listed separately, for the last three years for which figures are available;
(2) what was the number of appeals and references decided favourably to the claimant in the last three years for whichfigures are available by each of the medical appeal tribunals in England and Wales, both in absolute terms and as a percentage of those submitted; what was the number decided unfavourably to the claimant both in absolute terms and as a percentage; and what was the number of unchanged decisions both in absolute terms and as a percentage;
(3) what was the number of appeals and references decided by each of the medical appeal tribunals for England and Wales, listed separately, for mobility allowance for the last three years for which figures are available.

Industrial Injuries Scheme
Under this scheme, a decision which is unfavourable to the claimant does not necessarily mean that benefit entitlement is extinguished.
