§ Mr. Chris PattenOutline design and engineering plans for the proposed rail link between York Road and Belfast Central railway stations were prepared by consultants in 1979. Since then the Government have made it clear on several occasions that the proposal would have to compete with other public expenditure priorities. An updated analysis of the costs and benefits associated with this proposal will form part of a review of transport policy which is being undertaken in connection with the preparation of a new plan for the Belfast urban area.
