HL Deb 02 April 1985 vol 462 c220WA
The Countess of Mar

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What options they will consider if after one year the savings from the limited drug list are insignificant.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health and Social Security (Baroness Trumpington)

We are confident that substantial savings will be made, and see no need to consider alternatives to the selected list. We will however be discussing with the medical profession ways of achieving further savings through more effective and economic prescribing across the whole range of therapeutic categories.
