§ Mr. ChannonIn the earlier reply the value of imports of manufactures by the countres of the European Community included imports by the United Kingdom. In the later reply, in accordance with a revised method of compiling table E4 in the annual supplement to the "Monthly Review of External Trade Statistics", and as noted there, the value of imports by the United Kingdom has been excluded from the European Community total before calculation of the share taken by the United Kingdom.
