§ Mr. Peter MorrisonComprehensive and detailed information about expenditure on training and vocational education especially by employers, is not available. A tentative estimate for 1982–83 (the latest available) indicates that total expenditure was of the order of £6 billion, just over half of which was met by the public sector. I should emphasise however that this figure should be regarded as no more than a guide to orders of magnitude.
