HC Deb 01 April 1985 vol 76 c505W
Mr. Wrigglesworth

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer at which valuation offices fewer staff will be needed as a result of the abolition of development land tax; and by how many at each.

Mr. Moore

[pursuant to his reply, 28 March 1985]: The abolition of development land tax will reduce the work load nationally in the valuation office network by the equivalent of 120 units of work. But DLT forms only a small part of the work load of the valuation office. The ultimate effect of the abolition on individual valuation offices will depend on any other increases and reductions within the total work load of the valuation office.
