§ Mr. John PattenThe provision of health and social services for drug misusers in Waltham Forest is the responsibility of the Waltham Forest health authority and the borough council within their available resources. A central fund of £7 million for pump-priming local services for drug misusers from 1983–84 was oversubscribed. No application was received for a project in Waltham Forest. A further £5 million has been committed to expanding efforts in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of drug misuse but the precise allocation of this has not yet been decided.
