asked the Secretary of State for Defence if he is satisfied with the radar system to serve the new generation of Nimrod airborne early-warning aircraft; and if he will make a statement.

The radar for the Nimrod AEW Mk 3 is still under development. While it is taking longer to commission than originally anticipated, it would be premature to comment on its performance at this stage.
