(2) whether Spain has given any assurance that she will reduce the adverse tariff barriers which they practice against British exports to Spain prior to their expected admission to the EEC on 1 January 1986; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. MacGregorTariffs apply in trade between Spain and the United Kingdom on a very wide range of items within the responsibility of my Department, and at various rates. If my hon. Friend would care to indicate the items he has in mind, I will send him the details. I am not aware that any assurances have been given about reductions in Spanish tariffs on agricultural and food items before Spain accedes to the European Community.
