HC Deb 22 October 1984 vol 65 c485W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is satisfied that the London Docklands Development Corporation undertook adequate consultation with other statutory bodies prior to its issue of compulsory purchase notices since June.

Sir George Young

The London Docklands Development Corporation has not submitted any compulsory purchase orders since June. Statutory procedures are laid down in the Acquisition of Land Act 1981 and must be followed when orders are made.

Mr. Spearing

asked the Secretary of State for Environment if he will tabulate for each site in the London borough of Newham for which the London Dockland Development Corporation has issued, or intends to issue, a compulsory purchase order, the purpose for which the land is required and its intended planning land use.

Sir George Young

My right hon. Friend has not received any compulsory purchase orders from the London Docklands Development Corporation involving land in the London borough of Newham. I cannot forecast what land may be included in, or the reasons for, any order which the corporation may submit at some future date.
