HC Deb 30 November 1984 vol 68 cc626-7W
Mr. Madden

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what plans his Department has to arrange for bulk supplies of disinfectant to be made available to the public in the event of a serious and large-scale outbreak of dysentery.

Mr. John Patten

Control of infectious diseases, including dysentery, is for medical officers for environmental health. Where they consider it appropriate, they can arrange for the disinfection of articles following an outbreak of disease.
