HC Deb 28 November 1984 vol 68 c479W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on his recent visit to Liverpool.

Mr. Ridley

I visited the port of Liverpool on Friday 23 November and opened a new £2½ million grain and animal feed discharge facility at Seaforth. The installation was financed by Continental Grain, one of the world's largest grain trading and processing companies, and will bring more business and employment opportunities to Merseyside. This type of private enterprise investment in a port illustrates the evolving spirit of co-operation and partnership between ports and their customers and has my full support.
