§ 77. Mr. Corbynasked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on future central Government spending plans to meet the social needs of the people of Islington.
§ Mr. WaldegraveThe Islington inner city partnership has an allocation from my Department of £10.4 million in 1984–85, supported by 75 per cent. urban progamme grant. This is in addition to Islington council's current entitlement to £6.493 million block grant for 1984–85. If the council had met its expenditure target it would have received £24.011 million block grant this year. I am not yet in a position to announce urban programme allocations, or the rate support grant settlement, for 1985–86.
