§ 24. Mr. Sackvilleasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he proposes to introduce legislation to provide for the confiscation of assets of drug traffickers, including assets acquired as a consequence of criminal activities earlier than those for which the individual is convicted.
§ Mr. MellorMy right hon. and learned Friend intends to seek an opportunity for legislation during the life of the 247W present Parliament for the purpose of depriving offenders, including drug traffickers, of the proceeds of their crimes. The nature and scope of the proposed powers are being considered in the light of the recommendations of the Hodgson committee.
