§ Mr. Tim Smithasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when, and in what form, he intends to publish his proposals for changes in the enforcement powers of Her Majesty's Customs and Excise.
§ Mr. HayhoeHer Majesty's Stationery Office is publishing today a paper containing detailed proposals and draft clauses for implementing the majority of the Customs and Excise recommendations in volumes 1 and 2 of the Keith report. In a foreword to that paper, my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer endorses the proposals and confirms that he intends to bring forward the necessary implementing legislation in the 1985 Finance Bill.
