We have received over 150 representations from hon. and right hon. Members referring to a campaign for a blindness allowance organised by the Royal National Institute for the Blind, the National Federation of the Blind and the National League of the Blind and Disabled. I also met recently with a delegation from these organisations.
On the question of the introduction of a blindness allowance, I refer my hon. Friend to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Bournemouth, West (Mr. Butterfield) on 22 October at column 514.
