HC Deb 19 November 1984 vol 68 c36W
Mr. Fatchett

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what additional staff provision he has budgeted for in the planning inspectorate to handle the increased number of planning appeals expected by the minerals and waste disposal industries, following the transfer of their responsibilities to district councils in the event of the implementation of Cmnd. 9063.

Mr. Macfarlane

I do not expect that there will be any increase in planning appeals arising from abolition in connection with minerals and waste disposal that would necessitate any increase in the staff employed in the planning inspectorate.
