§ Mr. Macleanasked the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what guidelines he has given to the National Research Development Corporation regarding investment policy.
§ Mr. ButcherThe Government have approved the corporate plan submitted earlier this year by the British Technology Group, of which the National Research Development Corporation is a part. Approval was given on the basis that the BTG would make equity investments only in those exceptional cases where this was the most appropriate means of translating research ideas into commercial products.
