HC Deb 16 November 1984 vol 67 c368W
Mr. Ron Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many housing improvement grants he expects to be paid in Wales and Mid-Glamorgan, respectively during 1984–85 and 1985–86.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

Latest returns indicate that £81 million will be spent on renovation grants in Wales in 1984–85 of which mid-Glamorgan local authorities will spend £22 million. The amount spent in 1985–86 will be a matter for local authorities to decide in the light of their priorities and the resources available.

Mr. Ron Davies

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what is his estimate of the total number of applicants waiting for housing improvement grants in Mid-Glamorgan at the latest date for which figures are available.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

At 30 June 1984, the number of applications for housing renovation grants awaiting approval was approximately 21,000.
