Mr. Foulkes

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the amount of patients' money that has accumulated in each district health authority in respect of (a) mobility allowance for disabled patients and (b) other allowances for those of retirement age; and what is the number of patients in each category in respect of whom the money is held.

Information is collected centrally only on the total money that has accumulated in patients' balances in each district health authority. No breakdown is available centrally on the sources of the money or the number of patients.
