§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Transport what discussions he or his officials have had with nationalised transport industries regarding the seeking of injunctions by the industries against secondary picketing of their installations in the current miners' dispute; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. RidleyI have naturally been kept in close touch, by the chairmen of nationalised transport industries, with issues arising from the miners' dispute. The Government have made it clear that they would not wish to discourage any employers from using the legal remedies which are available to them as a result of the employment legislation. Action under these provisions must, however, be a judgment for individual managements.
