HC Deb 12 November 1984 vol 67 c120W
Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how much funding the Scottish Development Agency has received (a) in total and (b) annually since 1979; and what has been the change in real terms in the amount of money they are expected to receive in 1984–85 and the amount they received in 1979–80.

Mr. Allan Stewart

Since 1979 the Scottish Development Agency has received Government funding as follows:

£ million
1979–80 64.9
1980–81 79.9
1981–82 76.4
1982–83 101.5
1983–84 89.7
*1984–84 99.4
Total 511.8
* Supply estimate.

Adjusting for general inflation as measured by the GDP deflator at 1982–83 market prices, the agency's supply estimate provision for 1984–85 amounts to £90.7 million as compared with the similarly adjusted 1979–80 figure of £90.2 million.
