§ Mr. David Youngasked the Prime Minister what is the up-to-date cost of all Government operations in the Falklands since 2 April 1982 and the cost per capita in terms of the Falklands population.
§ The Prime MinisterTotal extra Government expenditure in connection with the Falkland Islands from 2 April 1982 up to the end of the current financial year is forecast to amount to some £2,100 million, equivalent to just over £1 million per head of population. This includes the cost of recovering the islands following the Argentine invasion.
