HC Deb 24 May 1984 vol 60 c544W
Mr. Gregory

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what the current charges are in respect of water for all types of users in Wales; and if he knows of any plans to increase these.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

The information is as follows:

The Standing Charges levied by the Welsh Water Authority in respect of Water Charges for 1984–85
£
Domestic (unmeasured) 11.50
Metered (industrial, commercial and agricultural sector)
Meter Size (mm)
up to 22 30.00
28 39.00
35/42 71.00
54 104.00
80 227.00
100 427.00
150 1,002.00
200 and above 1,649.00

The Welsh Water Authority reviews its charges annually, but my right hon. Friend is aware that the authority approved in February 1984 a revision of its tariff structure which will, inter alia, provide for some increase in the fixed element of the unmetered and metered charges, phased over a period of three to five years.
