§ Mr. Skeetasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will indicate the number of collieries that are producing coal at the latest date for which information is available.
§ Mr. Giles ShawFigures are currently made available daily by the National Coal Board showing the number of pits working. I understand that during the day shift on Tuesday 22 May, 43 collieries were working normally, five were producing some coal and nine were not producing but had men at work.
